VAT 69 Scotch Whisky Collection

An old litre of VAT 69, a famous old brand of blended whisky by William Sanderson & Sons,that was the favourite whisky of Captain Lewis Nixon of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, immortalised in the book and TV series Band of Brothers.
VAT 69 was chosen by Sir Ernest Shackleton to accompany him on his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914 ‘for medicinal and celebratory purposes’.
This bottle dates from the 1990s, and was bottled for UK duty free stores. The label carries a Royal Warrant by Appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
