The 260-lb Fragmentation Bomb AN-M81 has a body constructed of spirally wound 1-inch square wire. A seamless tube forms the base for the outer wrapping. The steel wire winding is forged at the nose and tail to form solid nose and tail sections. A conical fin assy M135 is secured to the aft end by a fin locknut.
The elongated conical fin assembly lengthens and streamlines Bomb AN-M81, improving its aerodynamic performance and accuracy in bombing.
The nose and tail sections are threaded to accommodate nose and tail fuzes.
Approximately 13 percent of the complete weight of Fragmentation Bomb AN-M81 is explosive filler.

The model is presented with nose fuze AN-M103A1 and tail fuze M172
A later modification of Fragmentation Bomb AN-M81 is Fragmentation Bomb AN-M88 which is lighter in weight because of its thinner steel wire windings.
The model was built using information, photos and images from internet, therefore its geometry and details are not engineering correct or exact.
It is a personal artistic interpretation, It is a high poly model not suitable for games
